Tie Dye 9th Birthday Cake

This was made for a friend's daugher. She wanted bright popping colors, tie dye and her picture on the cake.

Jungle Animals Shower Cake

This cake was made for a baby shower that had a jungle animal theme. All of the animals are made from fondant. The cake is covered with buttercream with fondant accents.

Ballerina Birthday Cake

This cake was made for Rebecca's 9th birthday. She requested a ballerina cake, so that is what we did. It's difficult to see in the pics, but the "floor"the dancers are sitting on is fondant that has a wood grain appearance with grooves and "nail holes".

Strawberry Shortcake Birthday Cake

This cake is covered in buttercream with fondant accents. The strawberrys are candy melts that I molded.

Swim Team/Swimming Pool Cake

I made this cake for my boss's son who swims for (at least) 2 swim teams. The "water" is blue piping gel. The flags over the pool are fondant and the towel, sandals and swimmers are too.

Heart in the Sand Shower Cake

The bride's colors were bright pink/fuschia and orange, so the request was for the white chocolate shells with the wedding colors marbled in. The cake is covered in buttercream and the sand is light brown sugar.

40th Birthday Cake

This cake was made for a 40th birthday party. The number "40" is made from chocolate that I piped onto waxed paper.

Tinkerbell Baby Shower Cake

This cake was made for a baby shower with a Tinkerbell theme. The flowers are all fondant with sugar pearls, luster dust and disco dust for a touch of sparkle.

Fight Club Cake

The first rule of Fight Club Cake is, you do not talk about Fight Club Cake. Only kidding! So, obviously this ain't your mama's birthday cake. It was made for a friend's husband, who's favorite movie is Fight Club. I discovered in researching this cake, that Fight Club is not a popular subject for cakes. So, that's great news is you want to be the first, bad news if you need inspiration. I used luster dust and powdered food coloring to "dirty up" the fondant lettering. The large bubbles are gelatin and the small ones are fondant. So, here it is. I hope he likes it!

Spongebob Squarepants Cake

The pineapple house is made from rice krispie treats and then covered in fondant. All of the decorations are made from fondant. The "sand" is brown sugar.

Purse and Pearls Cake

I made this cake for a woman at work who LOVES purses. And what good is a purse without accessories to put in it? This was my first foray into fondant sculpting and I thought the lipstick was pretty darn cute.

Blue's Clues Birthday Cake

This Blue's Clues cake was made for a little girl named Londan. I love the way the colors of the stripes worked together and the paw prints and polka dots on the bottom really brought it together.

Laura's Beach Shower Cake

This is a beach theme bridal shower cake with white chocolate shells. I have to admit, that this cake is the favorite of lots of people. This was for Laura's shower at work. I think that the topper really makes this cake. They used this topper for the wedding cake too, so it did double duty!

Kristen's Twilight Cake

I admit it, I'm a Twihard. In other words, I LOVE the Twilight series. So, when a friend decided on a Twilight party, I was in one hundred percent. The inside isn't red velvet, it's white cake with red food coloring. I thought it added a little extra ooh and aah.

Pig Pickin' Cake

This cake is so much fun! Believe it or not, it's a wedding cake. This was made for a couple that was getting married on the shore of the Potomac. And, you guessed it, the reception was a pig pickin'. Very southern and lots of fun!!

Bird Nest Cake

I think this is my most "avant garde" cake so far. It was made for a woman who has a bird sanctuary in her back yard. I went out on a limb because I knew she'd be up for something a little different.

Heather & Scotty's Orchid Wedding Cake

This was the first tiered wedding cake that I had done. I was nervous as heck, but I think that it turned out pretty well. The orchids are silk and I used sugar pearls around the layers.

Connor's Dinosaur Train Cake

This is the second cake that I did for Connor. So we've come full circle, since the first cake I made for him was the first custom cake I did. He was really into the TV show "Dinosaur Train" so the dinosaur characters are from that show.

Brooke's 13th Birthday Polka Dot Cake

This was my second cake for Brooke. This was for her 13th birthday, so it was a little more "grown up" than the hula girl, beach cake.

Alligator Cake

Okay, this cake was for Laura too. She's an allocator for our company and I've always called her our "alligator". So this was our inside joke birthday cake.
